Understanding Rating Inputs
At Form ASAP, we offer four distinct types of rating systems to meet diverse feedback needs:
-
Rating Face: A visual scale with five values:
-
Terrible
-
Bad
-
Neutral
-
Good
-
Excellent
-
-
Rating Star: A traditional 5-star system, with values ranging from 1 to 5.
-
Rating Like: A binary system with two values:
-
Like
-
Dislike
-
-
Rating Net Promoter Score: A numerical scale ranging from 1 to 10.
When to Use Each Rating Type
-
Rating Face: Ideal for capturing emotional or subjective feedback, such as customer satisfaction or mood tracking. The visual representation makes it easier for users to relate their feelings to the options.
-
Rating Star: Best suited for standardized evaluations, such as product reviews, service ratings, or performance assessments. Its familiarity ensures users understand it intuitively.
-
Rating Like: Perfect for simple yes/no or positive/negative feedback scenarios, such as gauging agreement or quick sentiment analysis.
-
Rating Net Promoter Score: Use when a more granular level of feedback is needed, such as scoring a performance, ranking options, or obtaining detailed customer feedback.

Important Notes About Changing Rating Types
-
Type Switching and Data Preservation:
-
If you switch between Rating Star and Rating Net Promoter Score, responses already collected (values between 1 to 5) will remain valid and calculated, regardless of the type.
-
However, if you switch from Rating Face or Rating Like to Rating Net Promoter Score or Rating Star, the old responses will be hidden. New responses will start being collected according to the new rating type.
-
-
Recommendation:
-
Avoid switching the rating type for active forms that are already collecting responses. Changing types mid-collection can result in data inconsistencies, as older responses will no longer align with the new format.
-
By carefully selecting and configuring your rating input, you can ensure seamless data collection and accurate feedback analysis in your forms.
